Best Time to Visit

Embrace the majestic Swiss Alps on a breathtaking grand train tour!  Spring (late May-June) and autumn (September-October) showcase Switzerland’s stunning landscapes in vibrant bloom or ablaze with fall foliage. Comfortable temperatures and clear skies enhance the panoramic train journeys.

Summer (July-August) boasts longer daylight hours for sightseeing, but expect higher crowds and potentially warmer weather on the trains.

Winter (December-February) transforms Switzerland into a wonderland, offering snowy vistas and festive charm on some routes, though some high-altitude journeys may have limited availability.

Itinerary

Arrive in Zurich

Zurich

Take a private transfer from the airport to Storchen Zürich, a hotel in the heart of Zürich that embodies the essence of the city. The next morning, you’ll meet an English-speaking guide at the hotel who will guide you through Zürich on an electric bike, riding along the Limmat River, green spaces and historic districts while diving into local stories and fun facts about the city. Enjoy lunch before taking a private walking Swiss Cheese & Chocolate tour, where you’ll taste various Swiss cheeses, enjoy an artisanal chocolate tasting, and discover a plethora of local specialties.

Zermatt

Take a private transfer to Täsch station, stopping at the Läderach museum along the way for a hands-on chocolate experience established by the renowned chocolatier Läderach. You’ll then take the train to Zermatt and make your way to Chalet Hotel Schönegg, an incredible family-run hotel that has been open for generations. Spend the afternoon and evening at leisure exploring the beautiful town of Zermatt, and wake the next morning for a scenic self-guided hike followed by lunch at a mountain restaurant. After lunch, return by cable car to Blauherd, and lift back down to Zermatt. Enjoy dinner in Zermatt.

Grindelwald

Transfer to the train station to travel from Zermatt to Täsch. To avoid multiple train transfers, a private driver will take you from Täsch to Grindelwald. Enjoy lunch in Bern on the way, and meet your local Segway guide for a Segway tour through Bern’s historic sites, including the Matten district, Rosengarten, and the Federal Palace, before continuing to Grindelwald.

Arrive at Bergwelt Grindelwald, a sleek ski hotel with beautifully crafted rooms made from Swiss wood and tactile fabrics. Have dinner at your leisure and take the train to Jungfraujoch the next morning. Spend time at Jungfraujoch and have lunch at a panoramic restaurant before an easy hike to Mönchsjochhütte, then take the train back to Grindelwald. Dinner at your leisure.

Lucerne

Take the train from Interlaken to Luzern and be privately transferred to your hotel, Schweizerhof Luzern, a 5-star hotel that’s been managed by the Hauser family for more than 180 years. Have dinner at your leisure and discover Mount Pilatus the next morning. Take a short walk to the boat dock, where you’ll cross Lake Lucerne by boat (with incredible mountain views, lakeside architecture, and forests) and arrive in Alpnachstad. Take the cogwheel train to Mount Pilatus and spend free time exploring and enjoying lunch at the restaurant. In the afternoon, take the Dragon Ride cable car from Pilatus, followed by the gondola to Kriens, and then take the bus back to Luzern. Enjoy dinner at your leisure before a morning guided tour of Luzern’s rich past, quirky anecdotes, and hidden gems.

In the evening, treat yourself to an unforgettable night on Lake Lucerne, where natural beauty, fine dining, and relaxation intertwine to create a perfect experience. Board a boat that glides across the water as the sun sets behind the peaks of Mount Pilatus and Rigi. Enjoy a multi-course gourmet dinner inspired by local and international flavors. The next morning, meet your driver and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
