Religious & Faith-Based Group Travel in Greece

Custom private pilgrimage and faith-based group tours in Greece for church groups, faith communities, private associations, and any group traveling with spiritual purpose.

Religion & Faith-Based Group Tours in Greece

Greece is one of the most profound destinations on earth for religious and pilgrimage group travel. It is the land where Saint Paul first set foot in Europe, founded the first Christian church on European soil at Philippi, preached on the Areopagus in Athens, and lived for eighteen months in Corinth. The places he walked, preached, was imprisoned, and was put on trial still stand today — and visiting them with an expert, faith-aware guide and your group around you is one of the most powerful travel experiences available to any faith community.

Beyond the Pauline trail, Greece holds some of the most significant Christian sacred heritage in the world — the cliff-top monasteries of Meteora, the island of Patmos where John received Revelation, and Byzantine churches and early Christian sites woven into nearly every major city in the country. We design fully custom, fully managed private pilgrimage and faith-based group tours for church congregations, faith communities, parish groups, private associations, and spiritually minded travelers of all backgrounds.

Athens & the Areopagus (Mars Hill where Paul addressed the Athenians, the Acropolis in biblical context, the Ancient Agora, early Christian sites and Byzantine churches of the Plaka)

Thessaloniki (where Paul wrote his epistles to the Thessalonians, the Rotunda, the Church of St. Demetrius, Byzantine city walls and upper town, the Vlatades Monastery)

Corinth & the Peloponnese (ancient Corinth where Paul lived for 18 months, the Bema where his trial took place, the Temple of Apollo, the healing sanctuary of Epidaurus)

Kavala & Philippi (ancient Neapolis where Paul arrived in Europe, Philippi where he founded his first church, the site of Lydia’s baptism, the prison where Paul and Silas were held)

Veria & Vergina (biblical Berea where Paul preached after Thessaloniki, the town’s memorial altar to the Apostle, the royal tombs of Vergina)

Meteora (cliff-top Eastern Orthodox monasteries — a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the great sacred landscapes of the Christian world)

Patmos & the Aegean Islands (the Cave of the Apocalypse where John received Revelation, the Monastery of St. John, island pilgrimage routes)

In the Footsteps of Saint Paul: An 8-Day Pilgrimage through Greece

Day 1: Thessaloniki

Arrive in Greece’s vibrant northern capital — a city where Paul’s epistles were written and where East meets West — with a welcome dinner and briefing with your tour director.

Day 2: Thessaloniki / Kavala & Philippi

Travel east to Kavala (ancient Neapolis), where Paul first set foot on European soil in 49 AD, then follow his path to Philippi — where he founded the first Christian church on the continent, baptized Lydia, and was imprisoned with Silas.

Day 3: Thessaloniki

A guided walking pilgrimage through the city — the Rotunda (UNESCO), the Church of St. Demetrius, the Byzantine city walls, and the waterfront promenade where Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians still echo.

Day 4: Veria & Vergina, then on to Kalambaka

Visit Veria (biblical Berea), where Paul preached after leaving Thessaloniki, and the town’s memorial altar marking where he spoke — then the spectacular royal tombs of Vergina, before continuing to Kalambaka for the night.

Day 5: Meteora, then on to Athens

Morning visit to the cliff-top monasteries of Meteora — one of the great sacred landscapes of the Orthodox world — before heading south to Athens.

Day 6: Athens

A full day following Paul’s path through Athens: the Acropolis in biblical context, the Areopagus (Mars Hill) where Paul preached to the Athenians, the Ancient Agora, Byzantine churches of the Plaka, and the city’s major landmarks.

Day 7: Corinth & Epidaurus

Travel to ancient Corinth where Paul lived and worked for 18 months — the Temple of Apollo, the Fountain of Peirene, and the Bema where his trial before Gallio took place — then the remarkable ancient theatre of Epidaurus before a farewell dinner in Athens.

Day 8: Departure

Breakfast at leisure, then transfer to Athens International Airport.

Optional extension: A 4-night Aegean cruise can be added to include Patmos — the island of Revelation — and Ephesus in Turkey, completing the full Pauline journey
