Arrive in Halifax

Halifax

The capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax is an ever-evolving coastal city that blends rich maritime history with contemporary, laid-back East Coast charm. Often described as one of Canada’s most welcoming cities, Halifax is famed for its picturesque waterfront peppered with historic sites and bustling boardwalks.

Activities: 
  • Orientation walking tour: Meet your tour guide in the heart of the city and see all the highlights. 
  • Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21: Knowledgeable Heritage Interpreters will walk you through 400 years of immigration history.
  • Evening sailing cruise: Board Halifax’s signature ship, the Tall Ship Silva, to see the sights, city, and coastline from a unique perspective.
  • Ghost Walking Tour: A walking tour through Halifax’s downtown core with tales of ghosts, spirits, forerunners, and devils, collected from the folklore of Nova Scotia.
  • Guided tour of the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site: Step back to 1869 and immerse yourself in the social and military history of Halifax with the 78th Highlanders and the 3rd Brigade Royal Artillery.

  • Overnight in Baddeck.

Baddeck – Sydney

Transfer to Sydney, the last location on your tour of Nova Scotia.

Activities: 
  • Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site: Be inspired by the fascinating life and work of the Scottish-Canadian inventor, scientist, teacher, and devoted family man.
  • Hike part of the Cabot Trail.
  • Visit Eskasoni Cultural Journeys: Experience authentic Mi’kmaw culture on Goat Island, including a smudging ceremony, baking of four cent bread, learning basketry, and traditional dance.

Louisbourg Day Trip

Activities: 
  • Visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site: Discover the French colonial life between 1713 and 1758, as well as exploring the home of the Mi’kmaq.
  • National Historic Site and Treasure Hunt: Follow a personalized tour with a Parks Canada guide and then explore the site on an 18th-century treasure hunt.
