Spend your first night in Surrey at Camp Alexandra, and enjoy an opening ceremony and feast while students are introduced to themes of climate change, outdoor leadership and indigenous perspectives.

Take the Tsawassen ferry to Galiano Island, where students can complete the requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh Award’s adventurous journey and voluntary service project (if applicable). Galiano Island is a narrow strip of land between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Also known as the Jewel of the Strait of Georgia, this incredible scenic island is jam-packed with mountains, bluffs, cliffs, reefs, peaceful beaches, and flourishing forest reserves packed with flora and fauna.

On this peaceful island quiet escape, nature lovers will find joy in the abundant wildlife which hosts over 130 bird species alongside orca whales, seals, otters, and sea lions just off the nearby shore. The south end of the island is home to Montague Harbour National Park, a hotspot for outdoor adventures of all sorts: biking, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, boating, kayaking, and canoeing.

Activities:
