Itinerary
Arrive in Athens
Athens
Welcome to Athens!
Our meet-and-greet service will guide you from the airport to your driver, who will transfer you to your hotel in the heart of the colourful Plaka district. Plaka is the oldest section of Athens and is nestled in the shadow of the Acropolis and beckons a wander through the narrow, boutique-lined streets. Don’t miss out on the quintessential Greek pasttime of sitting in one of Plaka’s outdoor cafes, sipping Greece’s answer to the sunny climate, a perfect frozen coffee: the frappé.
Over the next few days, meet your guide for walking tours of Ancient Athens, including the Acropolis, Roman Forum, Agora, and more. Visit the Monastiraki district and its famous Sunday flea market. Relax at your hotel’s rooftop pool as you please. Enjoy fresh, local food at countless restaurants around the city and savour the delicious taste alongside myriad health benefits presented by the famed Mediterranean diet!
Suggested Accommodation: Athens Capital Center Hotel MGallery Collection
Crete
Onwards to Crete! Your guide will take you to Knossos, the oldest Bronze Age archaeological site in Crete and, technically, Europe’s oldest city. Archaeologists believe this place inspired the legendary labyrinth in the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur.
Next, swim in the azure ocean, relax by the pool, or enjoy the town of Elounda! Take an optional excursion to Spinalonga Island, which was once the main fortification for the ancient city of Olous. For history and culture enthusiasts, we recommend the “Live Like an Ancient Minoan” tour. This amazing experience will deepen your understanding of the Minoan culture and its influence on modern Greece, and includes a cooking class.
Suggested Accommodation: Cayo Exclusive Resort & Spa
Santorini
Today you take a high-speed ferry to the one and only Santorini! Visit the site of Akrotiri, often referred to as “the Greek Pompeii”. Destroyed by an ancient volcanic eruption (possibly the one that inspired the myth of Atlantis), Akrotiri contains stunning intact frescos that date to 1620 BCE. We recommend lunching at a taverna located right on the water’s edge, and then sampling a selection of Italian-influenced wines at one of Santorini’s most famous wineries. For the rest of your day, choose from white, red, and black sand beaches, book a spa treatment, or shop in Fira, Santorini’s vibrant main town.
One of Santorini’s main pleasures is to embark on a catamaran tour of the caldera. On the cruise, you will have the chance to visit volcanic hot springs, relax on the white beach, snorkel and watch the glorious Santorini sunset. A delicious barbeque and open bar will round out the experience as you take in the iconic vista surrounding you.
Suggested Accommodation: Andronis Concept Wellness Resort
Mykonos
For your last stop, take another ferry to Mykonos where you will stay at a luxury hotel on a private peninsula. Relish the oceanfront location and jump into the Aegean or lounge by the water!
Mykonos is the launchpoint to the nearby island of Delos, the mythical birthplace of Apollo and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring Doric ruins. After marvelling at the breathtaking ruins, head into Chora (Mykonos Town) for dinner and soak up the lively evening atmosphere. Get lost in its labyrinthine alleys, built that way to confuse pirates hundreds of years ago.
Take a free day to visit a beach club or head to Alefkandra, known as Little Venice. Around the western edge of the Old Harbour is a wonderful area of car-free alleys leading to the waterside. One of our favourite Mykonos experiences is to take advantage of its incredible light and colour by hiring a private photographer to take family portraits at some of its finest sites.
Suggested Accommodation: Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort
