Arrive in Rome

Rome

Enjoy your first moments in the ‘Eternal City’ with an espresso or aperitivo in lovely Piazza Navona after arriving at the luxurious J.K. Place, housed in Rome’s former school of architecture. An introductory golf cart tour of the city’s historic sites will provide an overview of the millennia of history on display in the thriving modern city. Tour the Colosseum and Forum at dusk where you can walk in the footsteps of Caeser, throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, or climb the Spanish Steps to the Borghese Gardens. A private guide will explain the masterpieces of the Vatican Museum and lead you to marvel at the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.

A trip to the local market followed by a private cooking class can be arranged for foodies, or a palace tour for interior design afficionados. Your luxury stay in Rome will be customized to your interests, with ample time to relax, shop, wander, and dine at celebrated restaurants and neighbourhood trattorias.

Tuscany

Drive north through Umbria with stops in medieval towns like Orvieto, Montepulciano, or Montalcino, picking up excellent bottles of wine and slices of history as you go. Your destination is the stunning Castel Monastero Resort with views across the Tuscan landscape. Here you will find the world’s best Chiantis, DOCG certified for authenticity and quality.

Over the course of your stay in Tuscany, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of activities like winery visits, truffle hunting, and cooking classes. Exhilarating options could include hot air balloon rides, guided ATV tours through Chianti vineyards, or biking along the ancient Via Francigena. Enjoy spa treatments, poolside cocktails, and shopping expeditions to one of the world’s finest luxury outlet malls. We recommend visits to remarkably beautiful hill towns like Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra as they make perfect outings for luxurious lunches, and we can arrange a private guide if desired.

Florence

Before reaching Florence, stop in the gorgeous medieval town of San Gimignano for lunch, and travel along the rollling hills of Tuscany, picking up fantastic bottles of wine along the way.

As the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence’s architecture and art is unparalleled across all of Europe. Your exploration begins with a guided walking tour of the magnificent Duomo, octagonal Baptistery, and Piazza della Signoria. Browse the shops along the Ponte Vecchio before crossing the Arno River towards the Pitti Palace gardens. You will admire Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia, or see masterpieces at the Uffizi Gallery. The guide will also take you to see some of Florence’s hidden gems. This includes the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, a perfume factory with over 800 years of history that still sells their traditionally crafted ‘scented waters’, and the Boboli Gardens, a Medici family creation where art, nature, and science intersect.

The rest of your time in Florence is yours to explore, and is a good launch point to visit Siena, towns along Cinque Terre, or to shop in one of Florence’s many luxury outlets. Florence is not just art and history, it’s also fashion and craftmanship. Home to Salvatore Ferragamo, Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli, and Gucci, Florence’s boutiques are a shopper’s dream. The local markets offer exceptional leathergoods, gold, embroidery, and silk. The perfect place to find sophisticated souvenirs for your family and friends.

While you’re exploring Florence’s wonders, don’t forget to savour specialties like bistecca alla fiorentina, sip Chianti or Super Tuscans, and sample the best gelato at culinary hotspots scattered across one of the country’s most charming cities.

Suggested Accommodation: Hotel Lungarno

Venice

Finally, you reach Venice, often called “”La Serenissima’, for its seductive allure. The city’s unique lagoon position has lured visitors for centuries, drawn by the city’s mystique. From the moment you see the Grand Canal palazzos from your private water taxi enroute to your luxury hotel, you will be entranced by Venice’s charms.

We will arrange for you to explore hidden gems with a private guide and see local landmarks overlooked by the average tourist. See the historic canals radiating outwards from Piazza San Marco, tantalizing gateways to the neighbourhoods that define Venetian life. Afterwards, marvel at the Byzantine mosaics in Basilica San Marco, cross Casanova’s ‘Bridge of Sighs’ at the Doge’s Palace, and visit artisan shops on the Rialto Bridge. See one of Italy’s oldest textile factories still in operation today, Tessitura Bevilacqua as your guide explains the traditional weaving process. Experience one of life’s great pleasures with dessert and coffee at a historic “”Gran Cafe””, lingering to soak up the atmosphere of beauty and live music.

Depending on your preference: visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, journey to Murano for a glass blowing demonstration, venture to Burano to see traditional lacemaking, or simply wander the alleyways and canals at your leisure. Be sure to stop for cicchetti along the way, the Venetian version of tapas. Enjoy the rich cultural offerings of La Biennale di Venezia, an organization that showcases art, music, theatre, architecture, dance, history, and cinema.

Finally, a quintissentially Venetian gondola ride, which can be done with or without a gondolier. We, however, recommend “”Learning to row like a Venetian”” for a truly immersive, active, and unique experience. Allow Venice to enchant you as you glide along the surface of the water in a veritable paradise. We know your time in Venice will be a delight, enticing you to return to the Veneto and further explore all the region has to offer. Arrividerci Italia!
